28!.....Deployment

My hubby turned 28 on the 18th! We mostly celebrated last Saturday and then tonight at my parents. Last week we went to mimi's cafe for breakfast and it was so yummy!! I love their hot chocolate! Then we went with some friends to Wingers that night. I gave Adam his present that day also because I needed him to look at it before I got it for him...Now you ask what did I get him, well I got him a range bag for when we got shooting. He loves it! Tonight at my parent's house my mom made german pancake, I made Won Ton salad and better than sex cake. All of them are his favorite foods. It was really weird to have pancake and a salad for dinner but they are both really good so it's okay.

Here is Adam blowing out his 28 candles.

Better than sex cake...
Now you probably notice that my title has Deployment in there, well as you know from my last post Adam was just about to be deployed and then he was cut and didn't get to go. He was pretty bummed about this....but now his is going with a different unit. At the beginning of January he got a call from his unit saying that another unit in his battalion was needing another medic and that he name was given as the medic. So Adam will being deploying in May to go to Afghanistan for a year. We both know that this will be hard but it will also be good in the end.

I love Adam so very much and with all my heart and can't even think of my life with out him. But I know that he'll come home safe because so many things that have been promised to us have not happened yet. I know that he joined the National Guard and that he didn't do just for the educational benefits, he joined to serve his country. I am very proud to be his wife and to call him my husband. He is the most wonderful man I know. I love you Adam and I hope you had an AWESOME birthday!

What a hard experience that will be but one you will grow from. I wish you the best!

So... I came across your blog when I saw it under Gillian's friends blog list. I sound so creepy, but I swear I'm not :) anyway, your husband will be deploying with my husband Steve, who is the senior medic of the unit! I know exactly how you are feeling! It would be great to have a great friend while they are gone! Anyway, you and your husband make such a great couple, and sorry to be so creepy!

Thanks Estella, it's nice to know that there are others out there who are going through the same thing I am. I know people say they know how it feels to be away from their husbands, but I don't think they understand unless they are gone through it before (like us with basic and AIT).
